Thoughts About Cutting Your Energy Bill

Do you want to cut some of your energy bills?  You may be considering switching providers, looking at energy saving devices and other methods.  Here are six things you might consider doing as well:

First - Maintain your heating and cooling system- It is necessary to clean or replace your home's or office's air filters each month. One of sound ways that to help keep your HVAC system operating at peak levels is to get a local service who will conduct tune-ups each spring and autmun season.

Second - Seal air leaks.  Fixing leaks throughout your home can help you receive the full performance from your insulation.  The largest gaps are sometimes discovered within the attic, and near exterior doors and windows.

Three - Equipment has to be sized properly for your property.  Should the heating or AC unit becomes just too massive it can short cycle, and, thus, not run at optimal levels

4 - Replace your old equipment with Energy Star Products. When getting heating or HVAC equipment, explore for the ENERGY Star label.  This designation is an endorsement of possible electricity savings.

Fifth - Seal ducts.  Ducts that are broken or clogged can leak conditioned air and lessen your system's capability by possibly 20 percent.  You'll increase your ducts' performance by calling a reputable contractor to conduct an inspection

Six - Install a programmable thermostat. When you are not at your house turn down your thermostat to avoid wasting cash. An Energy Star thermostat, whenever used properly, will prevent about $100 each year in energy costs.
